Are you ready to explore Coconut Grove's most beautiful private gardens?
The Secret Garden Tour of Coconut Grove was started by Carrie Jackson in 2019 to raise awareness of how gardens contribute and preserve the unique biodiversity of Coconut Grove, and to inspire us to keep gardening!
This year's self-guided Secret Garden Tour is happening over two days and includes seven unique gardens that are located within walking distance of one another in the North Grove, making it easy for you to walk, bike, or scooter. We planned it this way because parking on Coconut Grove streets is very limited.
Tour proceeds benefit Friends of the Commodore Trail and other local non-profits that help with the Tour.
The Friends' are your community advocates committed to improving the historic five-mile pedestrian/bike trail that runs through the heart of Coconut Grove while stewarding its incredible tree canopy and historic significance to Miami.
Here's What You Need to Know
TOUR DAY WRISTBAND & MAP PICK-UP | EVENT PARKING
- All Tour guests must check-in to get a wristband and the Tour Map, which will be your guide for the day.
- Check-in is located at Ransom Everglades Middle School.
Saturday: 2045 S. Bayshore Dr. Entrance. Sunday: 2045 Tigertail Ave. Entrance. - FREE parking is available at the ticket booth locations
- Parking lot closes at 5:30 PM Sat. & 4:30 PM Sunday
- All tickets must be purchased online in advance of the event.
TOUR ROUTE
- The Tour is self-guided, and you can visit the gardens in any order you like.
- The entire Tour is walking distance fro Ransom MS. The furthest two gardens from Ransom MS are .6 of a mile. That's a 13-minute walk. The other gardens are a 2-6 minute walk from Ransom MS.
BIKES/SCOOTERS
- We encourage you to bike or scooter!
- You may NOT lock your bike to a tree or homeowner's fence.
- Bikes are also not permitted on homeowners' property unless otherwise noted
CARS & GOLF CARTS
Please ONLY purchase this ticket if you cannot walk, bike, or scooter the tour route.
There are only 10 driving tickets available per day.
- The “driving” ticket is for the two-hour window you select with a 1:00 PM start time or 3:00 PM start time on Saturday or a 2:00 PM start time on Sunday. The times may not be switched.
- Drivers must start the tour promptly at their scheduled time, so please arrive early to get your ticket.
- 6 passengers max per vehicle. Only one ticket per vehicle is required.
PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THESE POLICIES
- Because these are private homes with uneven garden terrains, we cannot accommodate wheelchairs or walker assistive devices.
- Out of respect to the garden properties, NO dogs (including service dogs), or children under 10 are allowed.
- Tickets are non-refundable.

- Bike rental in Coconut Grove is available at SunCycling Cycle & Fitness Shop, 27th Ave and Bird Rd (Reserve at 786-409-2663)
