Get ready to uncover the captivating stories of Coconut Grove while enjoying a delightful evening walk.

October is Global Diversity Month! This tour will highlight the diverse groups of people that make the Grove's history so unique.
You'll hear stories of the indigenous Miami tribes, the adventurous American and Bahamian pioneers who founded and developed Coconut Grove, and the women and Bahamian activists who improved the lives of the community. The Grove's history includes a melting pot of religions, being a mecca for 60's and 70's counter-culture, attracting artists, musicians, poets, and people of every kind. Each stop promises an interesting story and a sprinkle of local lore. Our knowledgeable guide will share intriguing anecdotes and lesser-known facts that will make you see the Grove in a whole new light.

Meet your guide, Stella Erin Ross, a local historian, guide, and lecturer for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. She holds a B. S. in Tourism and Hospitality Management from F.I.U. and is a certified Toastmaster. Stella has been guiding for 11 years giving an array of historical, cultural and culinary tours.

Tour proceeds benefit Friends of the Commodore Trail (501 c3), a local advocacy group that works to preserve and improve the historic 5-mile recreational trail that runs through Coconut Grove.
